Crafting With Dried Flowers

by sherrie

My favorite kind of crafts are made with dried flowers. I also love to pick and dry out my own grape vine too. The two combined makes a beautiful wreath for any season.

The dried flowers can be purchased from your local crafting store and they have an array of beautiful colors as well as a wide variety to choose from. Fortunately for myself I have several friends and family members that have grape vine growing in their back yards and that is my source for getting grape vine. However if you do not have a source like this you can always purchase a grape vine wreath (plain) at your crafting store and apply your dried flowers to that.

I love the look of Spanish moss as my base on my wreath and I apply this by putting clear glue (from glue gun) all around the wreath and place the moss on top of that while it is still warm. Then I place my dried flowers throughout the wreath using the same hot glue gun technique. Some people also like adding a bow or a ribbon of some sort to top the wreath off.

My favorite time of the year to make one of these is the fall time. You have such a wide variety of colors that make the perfect fall wreath.
