If I had a tip to anyone who was about to build a website to sell handmade crafts online, it would be to make the website simple and very easy to navigate. Always include links to go to other parts of the site at the bottom, top, or side of the page. This is called a menu, or nav bar, and will help in making the site easy to navigate.
Keeping it simple doesn't mean your site has to be boring. Add nice backgrounds offset by solid colored tables for your text and images. This draws the eyes in, and even enables you to use busy backgrounds that may otherwise be distracting.
Clearly list shipping, payment, and contact information in a place that is easy for potential customers to find while they are surfing your site. To sell handmade crafts online, it is best to try to anticipate your customers' questions, and answer them clearly on your site.
