EZ Up Shelter

EZ Up Canopy Tent Guide

The EZ Up shelter is an extremely popular craft tent. It is mid-priced, easy to assemble, and sturdy enough to get you through many craft shows.

My initial review of the EZ Up Tent provides a general introduction to the EZ Up shelter, and this article will provide more in-depth information on this brand of craft tents.

General Information About EZ Up Canopy Tents

There are several different models of EZ up tents available at several different price points. Please note, I have not included every model of EZ Up tent that is available. I have focused on the ones that are often used by craft artists.

E-Z UP Eclipse II Instant Shelter

This Ezup Canopy model is designed for commercial use. While the price varies depending upon where you make your purchase and whether you buy additional accessories, this EZ Up canopy tent can be purchased for approximately $700 if you choose a steel frame, or about $800 if you choose an aluminum frame.

E-Z UP Enterprise II Instant Shelter

This EZ Up tent is also commercial grade and designed specifically for use at venues like craft shows. Again, prices will vary, but this craft tent is usually sold for approximately $500.

E-Z Up Express II

This model, according to the E-Z Up company, is good for those who are "dabbling in art fairs". It's a good stater model for those who want a quality tent but aren't doing enough shows to justify purchasing a higher end craft tent. It often sells for around $250-$300.

While you will find mixed reviews of EZ Up tents, for the most part, EZ Up canopy owners report that they are quite happy with their craft tents, and the tents hold up well as long as you have realistic expectations for the less expensive models and take good care of your canopy.

You can buy replacement parts for your EZ Up canopy tent, so if your tent's legs, top, etc. need to be replaced, you won't have to run out and buy a brand new tent, you can simply replace the appropriate part.

The Ez Up tent can be put up by a single person.

EZ Up Canopy Tents and Wind

Strong winds at craft shows can be a concern with all kinds of craft tents. Over and over, craft artists say that it is extremely important to protect your EZ Up shelter from the wind. That can include:

  • Stabilizer bars, which are poles that span horizontally across the legs of the tent to join the legs and add stability to the tent
  • Canopy Weights, which can take many different forms from store bought to hand made options. The article Tent Weights outlines several options for weighting your craft tent.

EZ Up Shelter and Rain

Some craft artists say that certain models of the EZ Up shelter is not as waterproof as they would like, while others have reported absolutely no problems with leaking. There are a few simple solutions to protect your portable canopy in the rain if you have concerns.
