Home Craft Business - Guide to Selling Crafts

Home Spa Parties

"Let the beauty we love be what we do." Rumi

Home spa parties can be a good way to promote your own line of handmade cosmetics and beauty products.

To get ideas for booking spa parties start with the general tips for planning a home craft party.

Once you have your party spa home booked, start to plan your strategy.

Keep the pampering, spa theme consistent through the party. Consider spa themed invitations, provide soothing music, perhaps some scented candles and suggest to your hostess that she provide the type of light snack you'd get at a spa.

If you are not comfortable providing the spa treatments yourself (a home spa party can be a lot of work) consider partnering with a local esthetician - someone who has an independant business and is not tied to a particular line of beauty products. If you do work with a partner, be sure to communicate clearly with eachother about who will be responsible for specific tasks and how you will split profits from the party.

Determine where the treatments will take place. You'll be able to run a couple of stations at one time if you are working with a partner. Snacks, drinks, browsing your products and socializing will entertain guests who are waiting.

Consider holding a practice home spa party for a group of friends before you hold your first party for paying customers. You'll get a chance to practice, work out the best work flow for your parties, ensure you have all of the supplies necessary and fine tune your approach. You may also get a few party bookings as a result of your practice run.

Set up an attractive display for your products in a place where guests are sure to see them, and consider providing some sample size products for guests to take home along with your contact information. This strategy can boost your sales after your home spa parties.
