Ever wonder how big department stores know what is the next BIG thing? They shop! Shopping doesn't always mean buying. Sometimes it is about ideas, trends and simply seeing your competition.

Start BIG, the next BIG thing might be a small detail but you will see it everywhere. Look at trends and market those to your advantage.

Does your Store, Booth, Display table look inviting? Are you using height and spacing correctly? Be sure you rotate merchandise to make it interesting to the buyer. Large objects can display smaller objects, use a chair as a display for a beautiful hand knit shawl and use the shawl to display an awesome brooch. Be sure to use complementary or contrasting colors or themes. An orange shawl embellished with a tortoise necklace or brightly colored brooch, atop a modern brown chair focuses the eye on each item separately.

Don't forget to display items that maybe more expensive as an exclusive. Everyone wants to think they got the ONLY one or the last one left.

Keep it fresh by constantly moving merchandise around the store or table, and don't be afraid to take items out and store them. Trends come and go and then come back!
