Maximize Your Time!

One great aspect about working at home is you are in charge of your schedule. Some folks do their best work at night, others in the morning.

The important thing is to determine your best time and fit that in to what works for your customers. Some businesses will require that you be available when others are.

Decide what should be done when and what should be delegated to someone else. What is your strength? What is your weakness?

For example, if you are not great at billing it pays to have someone else do that.

Schedule EVERYTHING, whether you are doing it or not. A time to work, a time to sell, a time to plan. You are in control of your time!! Use it well. Have a wall calendar.

Distractions are a problem. Minimize yours! Be available by email, etc. but not so available that you aren't getting anything done.

Research is important. Clients are important and making sure you have a market, a paying market, is crucial. Always do research and make your customers happy. What is in demand? Always strive to have what the customers want in stock and available. Communicate with them-an email newsletter is cheap and effective.
So is actually being available to answer the phone. If you do this, designate a certain time.

Good scheduling combined with a great product equals happy customers and profitable business-in any economy.
